In Aalborg’s old city centre, history is literally located right underneath our feet. In the middle of the pedestrian street, you may take a lift three metres down below ground to the ruins of an old monastery, which was founded around the year 1240. This museum displays impressive ruins of the Franciscan monastery, skeletons from the church yards and many interesting finds from Aalborg during the Viking and Middle Ages.
