Aalborg Historical Museum
Travel back in time and experience Aalborg’s interesting and sometimes brutal history.
Here you will find the remains of a mass grave from 1534, excavated by the museum’s archaeologists in the city centre.
You may view the city’s original executioner’s sword and the price list for having a head cut off.
Visit a 400-year-old panelled drawing room from the Renaissance adorned with wood carvings on walls and ceiling or experience a 100-year-old school classroom. The museum also houses exhibitions about Aalborg during the time of the German occupation in the Second World War and about everyday life at the city’s large factories.
The museum shop will tempt you with souvenirs and gift items.
